Kowa Optimed Deutschland GmbH is part of Kowa Company Limited, one of the largest privately owned companies in Japan. Founded in 1894, Kowa has grown into a multinational Japanese company actively engaged in various manufacturing and trading activities in the fields of optics, pharmaceutical, life science, textiles and various consumer products.
Kowa Optimed Deutschland GmbH, based in Dusseldorf – Germany, is responsible for sales and distribution in Europe for two Kowa optical product categories. CCTV/industrial lenses/cameras and Sporting optics.

More than 70 years of experience with lenses
The electronics and optics division of Kowa began the production of lenses in the 1940s. Shortly after that spotting scopes and binoculars were added to the product portfolio. From the beginning, Kowa positioned itself in the high quality segment of the market. Most Kowa optical products are designed and manufactured in Japan.
Over the years, the product lines of lenses in the CCTV/security, machine vision and traffic control (ITS) categories have become one of the most extensive in the market. In addition to the standard lens portfolio, Kowa also provides custom lens solutions to ensure that each customer finds the perfect fit with a Kowa product for any type of project.

Kowa designs and manufactures robust cameras designed for challenging environments, seamlessly integrated with Kowa lenses for optimal performance. These advanced camera ranges leverage Kowa’s optical expertise, providing a significant imaging technology advancement. Close to the customer
Since the beginning of the 1980s, Kowa has had a sales office in Europe. For the optical division, Kowa Optimed Deutschland GmbH serves the European market from Düsseldorf. A small, dedicated team of lens professionals provides sales and technical support for the European market. The European team works in close communication with the technical development and production in Japan.
Most lenses are on stock in Düsseldorf and can be shipped anywhere in Europe within a few days.
SPORTING OPTICS
The Electronics and Optics division of KOWA began the production of spotting scopes in 1952. Originally, they were developed as scopes for examining targets in shooting matches and saw official use in 1964 Olympic Games held in Tokyo. Once discovered by birdwatchers, they gained unexpected popularity which gradually spread throughout the world of nature observations.
Kowa Sporting Optics are highly appreciated as it is widely known that their quality and reliability are the result of more than half a century of experience and development.
The PROMINAR line which includes models utilizing pure Fluorite crystal to achieve optical characteristics unattainable with glass, is the gold standard of serious users.
